How to regain freedom and stolen life. Is it possible? A single mum, Sara, is accused of kidnapping her three-year-old child, Maia,. She enter the web of corrupted lawyers, judges and survival.

Synopsis:

This story is my story. I am one of the Hague mothers.

The story unfolds alternating my personal filmed material, interviews with the people who have been close to me during this harrowing eight years of fighting to keep my daughter safe and with me. The film is a blend of scenes with evocative images of the court buildings and corridors, city streets, escape routes, and numerous cities where we waited, hid and where I tried to make a semblance of normality for Maia. The soundtrack of the movie will be filled with voices from court proceedings, interrogations, and lawyers instructions - the things that I heard that kept replaying in my head. It is also an intimate account of relationship between a mum and daughter who try to survive and live in the inhuman surroundings they must navigate - ( the creative reconstruction )

The biological father stalls. He sends strangers to follow us. The case drags, weeks, months and years. My legal costs pile up. After six months of proceedings, I have no apartment, job, life, dreams. Can I ever feel safe again? Can I have a “normal life” again?

Today we are “free”, after 8 years, the biological father’s parental rights were taken away.

This movie is for those who might one day stumble upon a similar situation. I wish I had known of the existence of previous case, the various possible outcomes, and the scale of repercussions of these proceedings.
