FESTinha

FESTinha is FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival juvenile section.

Thinking about our younger audience and trying to grow a love for cinema from a tender age, FESTinha presents a vast program of short and feature films aimed for children and youngsters, with ages between 3 and 16.

Organized in three age groups, the sessions are thought out to include films tailored to their interests, knowledge, and stimuli, all different characteristics of different ages, whilst also stimulating curiosity for film and a good aesthetic and critical sense.

All sessions are entry free being required, however, the registration in the activity.

The sessions are distributed through 3 age groups:

Under 10: young children from 3 to 10 years old;

Under 12: children and young teenagers from 10 to 12 years old;

Under 16: teenagers from 12 to 16 years old.

FESTinha Jury

Besides the film program, FESTinha invests heavily in the education of younger audiences towards cinema, by constructing a specific jury composed only by children and teens.

In total, the FESTinha competition will have three juries (under 10, under 12, under 16) that will have the opportunity to integrate the festivals team, watching movies and discussing them with professionals in the area.

Through this activity, we intend that the members of the jury learn to look at a film differently, taking into consideration various aspects related to its production and narrative construction.

The registration in this activity is free and destined for children from ages 6 to 16.

All participants will receive:
- a FESTinha jury badge;
- a FEST bag;
- a participation diploma.
